He received his BS degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno NV and did his Medical School at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Both his Internship and Residency was done at Wake Forest Baptist Health, Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Wesley C Fowler III, MD, is a 1995 honors graduate from Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University Winston-Salem, NC). He did his internship in surgery, as well as a residency in neurosurgery, at the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. Dr. Fowler completed a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology Research at Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center (Chapel Hill, NC) and a Fellowship in Oncology Research at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England.

Dr. Lytle is a 1997 graduate from the University of Alabama School of Medicine (Birmingham, AL). He completed both a surgery internship and residency in neurosurgery at Washington University (St. Louis, MO.). Dr. Lytle pursued further study in the field of neurological surgery at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. When he is not at work, Dr. Lytle enjoys spending time at home with his family or traveling and snow skiing.

Dr. Steenland has been with CSNC since 2014, joining the practice shortly after completing his term as Chief Resident of neurosurgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Medical School. While at UNC, Dr. Steenland also served an internship in general surgery and earned a Master’s Degree in Health Policy & Management. An avid runner and biker, he has completed six marathons, six triathalons and a cross-country bike trip.

Dr. Gooch has been with CSNC since 2009. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine (Charlottesville, VA.) and served his internship in General Surgery at the University of Kentucky Medical Center (Lexington KY). Dr. Gooch then served in the United States Air Force, while serving, he served as Assistant Chief of Emergency Services at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center, and a Spine Surgery Fellowship at the world renowned Maryland Spinal Reconstructive Surgery (Baltimore, MD).

Dr. Hoski has been with CSNC since 2009 and has cared for the residents of western North Carolina since 1992. Originally from Gross Pointe Farms, Michigan, Dr. Hoski earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI). He then traveled south to the University of South Florida in Tampa where he completed a rotational internship, followed by his residency in orthopedic surgery. In 1991, he also completed a Fellowship in Spine Surgery at the University of Miami and Miami Children’s Hospital (Miami, FL).

Orthopedic Spine Surgeon

A native of St. Croix Falls, WI, Dr. Moody earned his medical degree in 1987 from Georgetown University Medical School (Washington, DC). After a transitional internship at University of Arizona Maricopa Medical Center, he remained in Phoenix to complete a four-year residency in orthopedic surgery. In 1992, Dr. Moody and his wife, moved to Asheville with their growing family so that he could complete a fellowship in spine surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

In addition to working with CSNC patients, Donna has, in her spare time, also partnered with the Asheville Tennis Association, offering a Yoga for Tennis Players program.
